DRAWING OUT X

The 2021 edition of the Drawing Out X exhibition, which was open between 14 and 24 October, showcased a variety of 2D and 3D artworks by the Year 1 and 2 cohorts!

Featuring a vast variety of mediums, from charcoal drawings to oil paintings to paper sculptures, the versatility and multi-disciplinary talents of the students truly shone through with each VA group being given a different theme to work with for the various mediums. The result being the creation of a great diversity of artworks, ranging from the imaginative to the realistic, each one delving into a unique interpretation of a singular theme.

Similar to many other exhibitions held in the space, the area was quiet and calm, giving viewers a chance to engage with the artworks in silence. Coupled with the dramatic spotlight lighting, the intricacies of the artworks were brought to the forefront.

Alongside this, the exhibition also featured projections of the students’ Research Journals, giving viewers glimpses of the ideation, conceptualisation, and creation of the works on display.

Overall, visiting this exhibition was a truly eye-opening experience, and we applaud the Year 1 and 2s for their commendable efforts in this year of Visual Arts!
